Randy and Jon Hirschtick

Spring 2022

A foundational gift from Randy and Jon Hirschtick makes it possible for BETC to move beyond planning and dreaming to actually scribing a Torah.

"Our donation to support the writing of a Torah was inspired by three intentions: One, we wanted to carry forward our traditions for future generations, just as those who came before us did for our generation. Two, we hoped, particularly in this return-from-COVID time, that an array of programming around the writing of our Torah would serve to re-engage our temple community. And three, we hoped this would be a wonderful educational opportunity for all. The timing had urgency because we wanted to share the experience with our friend Todd Shuster (z”l) who meant so much to us and our congregation."
