Clergy Transitions

In June of 2027, both Rabbi Kraus and Cantor Robins will be retiring from Beth El Temple Center.

For the past several years, the Board of Trustees has been engaged in ongoing strategic conversations about the synagogue’s long-term financial health, organizational structure, and staffing model. In 2025, the board agreed on a plan and convened a Transition Committee to organize the many phases of the process of transition to come, including several searches and the right-sizing of our staffing model.

The Connect, Reflect, and Discover team brought together a significant cross section of congregants in over a dozen sessions throughout the year. Community wisdom gathered during these sessions informs the search processes.

The Development Committee announced the Blessings, Past and Future campaign to honor Rabbi Kraus’s legacy and help us bridge to the future. The campaign is well on the way to meeting the $750,000 goal, and that work continues. Make your pledge! 

The Rabbi Search Committee has posted the Interim Rabbi position and the Cantor Search Committee has posted the full-time Cantor position. Each committee is finalizing their vetting processes as resumes begin to come in.

The Retiring Clergy Celebration Committee is organizing a wonderful series of events to help us mark these meaningful changes and give us ample opportunities to to thank Rabbi Kraus and Cantor Robins for their years of service.
