Throughout the year, we will be honoring Rabbi Kraus’s inspired leadership and his impact on our temple’s commitment to worship, learning, repairing the world, and community. Please save these dates! We will continue to make updates as information becomes available.

Social Justice Shabbat with Special Guest Rabbi Jonah PesnerWe will mark the past 3 decades of social justice work at BETC under Rabbi Kraus’s leadership and are honored to have visionary leader Rabbi Jonah Pesner. Join us for a community Shabbat dinner prior to services, where this year’s Jonathan Jacoby Tikkun Olam Award recipients will be awarded. |
| March 5 & 6, 2027 |
Scholar-in-Residence Shabbaton with Special Guest Rabbi Lisa GoldsteinJoin us for a special weekend with Rabbi Goldstein, a colleague and friend of Rabbi Kraus. Rabbi Goldstein will share her love of learning; her thoughts on Judaism and healing; and her approach to mindfulness, meditation, prayer, and spiritual practice over the past 20 years. Events will begin with a Friday night Shabbat All Together Service and dinner, followed by a 45-minute talk with Q&A by Rabbi Goldstein. On Saturday, Rabbi Goldstein will lead Torah Study; following our morning Shabbat services, she will offer a special Lunch and Learn in Zonis. The weekend will conclude with a Havdalah co-led by Rabbi Kraus and Rabbi Goldstein. In celebration of Rabbi Kraus’s passion for teaching and education, all current students and alumni students will receive a special invitation to attend. Gala Shabbaton: Honoring Rabbi Kraus and His Legacy of Inspired LeadershipWe will celebrate Rabbi Kraus over the course of this Shabbaton weekend. Events will begin with a Friday night Shabbat All Together Service & Dinner featuring a special song session with Jacob “Spike” Kraus. On Saturday, several of Rabbi Kraus’s teachers will lead us in Torah Study. Our Shabbat morning service will be filled with music, blessings, and a special D’var Torah in honor of Rabbi Kraus. Our celebrations culminate in a Gala Party in Zonis with additional musical guests, tributes, storytelling, and gifts of gratitude and love for Rabbi Kraus.
