Tzedakah Programs
Tzedakah Box
We always welcome monetary donations, large or small, to the Tzedakah Box, located just outside the Sanctuary. Funds collected generally support local and international organizations providing emergency aid or disaster relief. Past recipients have included:
- Watertown Food Pantry
- Mercy Corps
- Arlington Emergency Fund
- programs helping victims of the Nepal earthquake
Benefit Concert/Film
Each spring we hold a benefit concert or film to raise funds for organizations at home or abroad. In recent years, we have raised funds for Arava Institute in Israel, BPeace, Ziv Medical Center in Safed, and Mercy Corps.
Yad Chessed
On Purim, we join with 80 other local Jewish organizations and temples to help Yad Chesed collect funds to purchase and distribute grocery gift cards for local families suffering food insecurity.
Winter Coat Collection for Homeless Children, Teens, Adults, and Refugee Families
Each year during December, we collect winter coats to donate to the CASPAR Emergency Homeless Shelter and Cradles to Crayons.
