The Social Action Committee requests nominations of individual BETC members, adult, and youth (pre-college) to be the recipients of the 2026 Jonathan Jacoby Tikkun Olam (JJTO) Awards.
The awards recognize individuals who have demonstrated outstanding contributions to the work of “repairing the world” by addressing critical socioeconomic issues. We choose honorees who have made an impact in a wide range of important areas, including, but not limited to:
- economic justice
- civil rights
- climate justice
- reducing gun violence
- healthcare
- hunger
- homelessness
- education
- poverty
- immigration
These honorees follow in the footsteps of former BETC member Jonathan Jacoby, who has inspired many of us to help create a world we want for ourselves and our children. Past honorees are listed at 2016_2025 JJTO Honorees and Donations.
We hope you will nominate worthy candidates ASAP; we know how hectic our lives can be in September — especially with the start of a new school year and anticipating the High Holidays. Our team would appreciate having time to review and process nominations, and to prepare program booklets. We thank you in advance for responding to this announcement.
