October Table Talk: The Case for Reparations
Thursday, October 22, 2020, 07:30pm

Join the BETC Social Action Committee for a provocative and meaningful discussion of journalist Ta-Nehisi Coates’s influential essay in the Atlantic, "The Case for Reparations."  Coates describes how the legacy of slavery has extended to geographical and governmental policies in America, and calls for a "collective introspection" on reparations.

Local civil rights leader, Beth Chandler, the CEO of the YW Boston, will engage in a discussion with Temple member Andrea Kramer, a former Chief of the Civil Rights Division of the Attorney General’s Office, about the article. Then Temple members will break into small groups for discussions, before coming back and sharing their thoughts and questions.

Check for the Zoom link in the BETC weekly email.
