Table Talk: The Discovery of Judit's Diary: An Unexpected Link to the Past
Thursday, October 30, 2025, 06:30pm

In 1944, 18-year-old Judit Ornstein was killed in an Allied bombing assault on Budapest. Seventy-five years later, her diary was brought to light in a small Israeli museum and translated from Hungarian to Hebrew, yet its provenance initially remained unknown.

Miriam Ornstein and her sister-in-law Susannah Sherry, both child psychiatrists and BETC members, will share with us how their family and others unraveled the mysteries surrounding the diary's discovery, and what they learned from the writings of Judit - a sensitive and literary adolescent.

Join us for a catered dinner beginning at 6:30pm, followed by Miriam and Susannah's presentation. The dinner cost is $20 for registration by October 21st, or $25 thereafter.  Pay at the door by check or cash, or bill to your ShulCloud account.

Livestreaming will also be available. For further information, please email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
