Kitah (Hebrew for “classroom”) Connection is our own specialized version of a parent teacher organization. Kitah Connection was born out of an interest in supporting teachers and creating a community where kids, teachers, and parents feel welcome and engaged. Kitah Connection features class parents for each grade, called Kitah Coordinators, who take the lead in supporting teachers in their work, creating a class phone tree, enlisting other parent volunteers for special projects, and supporting family education and class programs and simchas (joyous occasions).
Kitah Connection sponsors a Back-to-School Night (one school night early in the fall), designed to introduce and connect parents and teachers and give parents a broad view of curriculum and the education program at BETC. The group also runs our Purim Basket Fundraiser, providing Purim mishloach manot gifts to each member of the teaching staff and the temple staff, given by families as a way to show appreciation, thanks and honor. The proceeds of the fundraiser directly benefit the Religious School. Kitah Connection invites you and your children to find a comfortable, meaningful “home” in our school. For more information, or to find out more about becoming a Kitah Coordinator, contact Beth Goldstein, Education Director.
