Welcome back to a new program year at Beth El Temple Center. The Adult Learning Committee has been busy organizing programs to enlighten, educate, and entertain you. These include "Torah as a Spiritual Practice" with Rabbi Kraus, a regular series of Table Talk dinners, and "Zamir: Jewish Voices Return to Poland" with Cantor Treitman.
While much is made of educating the next generations of Jews, we are concerned with educating the current generations of Jewish adults. All are welcome at Adult Learning programs and events, most of which require no particular expertise – just interest and curiosity. With no quizzes, tests, or homework (okay, some classes might have some), what could be better? And of course, class participation is not required, so feel free to come and simply listen. (Although, of course, all voices are welcome in every discussion). And for those who prefer something a little less formal, we also offer movie nights. Our flyer has all the info!.
Now that you know who we are and what we do, please consider these upcoming programs:
- Rabbi Kraus’ class on “Torah as a Spiritual Practice”; four sessions, begins Oct. 19. “We’ll use the weekly Torah portion (and a wonderful Hasidic commentary) as a tool and a starting place to explore and cultivate our individual spiritual lives.” RSVP to
