Interested in joining BETC's Refugee Response Team (RRT) this year? Join us for an informational and planning meeting!

Last year we:

• helped set up several apartments for newly arriving refugees;
• provided food, rental assistance, and Charlie Cards for newcomers via BETC's Emergency Needs Grant
• provided 50 refugee children backpacks full of school supplies, distributing them at a pizza party in Roxbury
• helped a Sudanese family settle in Lynn

There are many unknowns about how refugees will fare under the new administration. After a period of relative quiet, there is an increased need for our active engagement. We will explore how we can be most helpful, which may include funding applications for legal status so vulnerable refugees can legally live and work in the US.

A representative from RIAC will provide an update as to needs we might fill.
