BETC Reads: "The Cost of Free Land"
Sunday, March 02, 2025, 02:00pm - 04:00pm

This year the theme for BETC Reads books is diverse Jewish identities and communities.

For our next meeting we have chosen to read “The Cost of Free Land - Jews, Lakota and an American Inheritance” by Rebecca Clarren. In this book, the author explores the entangled history of her Jewish ancestors' land in South Dakota, and the Lakota people who were forced off that land by the US government.

All are welcome to join the discussion at BETC. To RSVP please email Linda Blum at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Books are available to borrow from the Temple Library (on the left when you enter the library).  If you are able, we invite you to make a $10 donation (www.betheltemplecenter.org/donate and select "Adult Learning") to help cover the cost.  Thank you!
