Rebecca Mac is a Boston-based violinist who grew up in our BETC community and we are thrilled to have her return as our 2024 Paula Lerner Visiting Artist! Rebecca performs regularly in various ensembles and has performed at renowned music festivals, such as KlezKanada, Yiddish Summer Weimar and Yiddish New York. A regular in the Jewish music scene, Rebecca also runs an inclusive Klezmer jam in downtown Boston. She holds a degree in violin performance from Berklee College of Music. In this workshop, you can discover the rich world of Yiddish dance with Rebecca and dance leader Adah Hetko. We’ll dive into the history and cultural context of different Yiddish dance forms, and what makes it look and sound distinctly Jewish!
