Remembering Debbie: A Tribute Concert
can be viewed at www.rememberingdebbie.com
On January 9, 2011 we lost an icon in Jewish music, spiritual healing and the Jewish people. Debbie Friedman (z'l) inspired millions of Jews to sing and worship and to believe in the power of their voices and their prayers. While we are all still in shock and very much "sitting shiva" with the family - we know that Debbie's music, the soundtrack of contemporary Judaism, lives within us and will continue to reverberate throughout the Jewish world.
On Sunday, January 30 the New England Jewish community gathered at Temple Israel in Boston to pay tribute to the music and legacy of Debbie Friedman. Peter and Ellen Allard, Jon Nelson and John Dorizzi from Yom Hadash, Susan Horowitz, Jeff Klepper, Larry Milder, Josh Nelson, David Paskin, Julie Silver, Peri Smilow, Roy Einhorn and Jodi Sufrin, Lisa Winner, numerous cantors and musicians from New England and many more came together to celebrate the many blessings that Debbie gave us through her music.
