Set in 1987, this film tells the story of a woman in Gaza who must make a choice between love, family and freedom. Undaunted, she embraces all three, joining a clandestine network of women in a movement that forces the world to recognize the Palestinian right to self-determination for the first time.
A discussion after the film will be led by Suhad Babaa, a human rights advocate and Executive Director of Just Vision, an organization that researches, documents and disseminates the stories of Palestinians and Israelis working to end the occupation and build a future of freedom, dignity and equality for all.
The event will conclude with a dessert reception.
