The words of the siddur (prayer book) are among the most valuable treasures of a meaningful, Jewish spiritual life. But many of us find it difficult to unlock that treasure and may even feel put off by the words of some prayers. Through a series of creative (e.g., writing, meditation, music, possibly some simple yoga and art) spiritual exercises and reflections, we’ll try to discover ways in which the words of the prayer book--even the ones we find challenging--could provide a powerful tool for our own Jewish spiritual lives.
No knowledge of Hebrew or expertise in Jewish worship is required. But somewhat open hearts and minds are essential. Monday evenings, 7:30-9:30 p.m.—November 19th, 26th, December 3rd, 10th. Call the office for more information or to sign up.
