Beth El Federation of Temple Youth (BEFTY) is Beth El Temple Center’s youth group for teens in 9^th-12^th grade. BEFTY is led by an energetic group of dedicated teen leaders, with the guidance of our BEFTY advisor, Rachel Schein! BEFTY is a great place to come to meet new people, connect with old friends, and have an awesome time while participating in exciting programming and activities!

BEFTY holds an open meeting (for all teens in grades 9-12) on the first Thursday of every month in LC-4. Our events this year have included our annual Scavenger Hunt in Harvard Square and a trip to Witches Woods – along with an awesome Havdallah service and dinner. We are currently hard at work planning our future events, which will include a trip to Sky-Zone, a Shul-In, our Creative Service and much more! Come to our next open meeting to share your ideas for future events, help with planning these events, and/or to just hang out!

BEFTY is part of a larger organization, the National Federation of Temple Youth (NFTY) and within the Northeast Region (NE). NFTY-NE brings teenagers together from temples all over the northeast and parts of Canada for events such as dances, conclavettes (weekend retreats), and institutes (four or five day retreats during school vacations). These events are filled with awesome programming, wonderful services, and great social activities! You don’t want to miss out on this amazing opportunity to make life long friends from throughout the northeast!

Jr. BEFTY is Beth El Temple Center’s Youth Group for 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. Jr. BEFTY holds events 4-5 times per year, focused on bringing our middle school students together in a fun and informal environment. This year, we have asked our 8^th graders to take part in a planning committee, to help formulate ideas for and help plan our Jr. BEFTY events! So far this year we have gone Apple Picking, and we are hard at work planning for our December event at Sky-Zone!
