Thank you for your interest in Beth El Temple Center. BETC is a welcoming and inclusive Jewish community, filled with warmth and energy. We hope you will learn about Beth El by experiencing some of our programs and attending services.
Throughout the year, we offer many opportunities to connect with fellow congregants and to deepen your relationship to Judaism. In addition to traditional and creative worship services filled with music, BETC offers an adult education program, an outstanding religious school program, weekly Torah study with Rabbi Kraus, social justice activities, family education and more!
Our vision is of a vibrant Jewish religious community where the temple culture and activities support a sense of community and provide multiple levels of connections throughout the community. We endeavor to be a place where all are treated with Respect (Kavod), and where all we do is imbued with a thread of holiness. We have a deep respect for diverse perspectives and life experiences, and we support our members on their individual quest for a meaningful Jewish life.
One of our priorities is to be sure that new members feel welcomed and included from the moment they join our congregation. We hold a New Member Brunch series where temple leadership and clergy will introduce you to all BETC has to offer, as well as to other new members.
Finding a synagogue that is right for you takes exploration.I would be delighted to help you in that process by sharing my knowledge about Beth El Temple Center and our community.Feel free to contact me with any questions or fill out our Information Request Form.
Join us for our “First Fridays” Shabbat on February 4th when BETC Honors New and Longstanding Members. We will recognize both the newest members of Beth El and longstanding congregants who are marking significant anniversaries. We honor these groups together because the future of our community depends upon both the new members who join, support and reinvigorate our congregation each year and upon members who already have been building, nourishing and sustaining this community for many years.
This evening is co-sponsored by Sisterhood and the Membership committee who will provide salad and desserts for our dairy Pot Luck. For details, please see the flyer.
We encourage all who are part of our BETC congregation to join us for the 6:00 pm Congregational Pot Luck Dinner and our 7:00 pm Shabbat Service. (Please note there is also a special Shabbat Service for young families at 5:30 p.m.)
B’Shalom

Some comments from members on why BETC is a special and important part of their lives:
"BETC is the center of my community involvement where I look for, and usually find, social, intellectual, political/social justice and spiritual connections. It is a place where I can share my interests in Judaism, Hebrew, Israel and issues facing the American Jewish Community. It keeps me engaged with values I consider to be most meaningful."Jonathan Jacoby
"BETC means a place to sit and be comfortable with 'my' people. What’s special is the way the temple is organized to include everyone and welcome them." Liz Blumenthal
"BETC is where my family finds community. My non-Jewish, Indian husband is a member of the Brotherhood! My teenage children grew up in this welcoming community and are encouraged to discover what being Jewish means to them. For me, BETC is the place I explore and grow my connections to my faith and ethnicity." Elissa Grad
"The BETC community is my home away from home – it is filled with other people, all on our own Jewish journeys, who want to share, support and nurture each other on our paths. BETC is special because it works so hard at supporting and caring about each individual – as a gay couple with a young child, the community was warm and welcoming –a place where we could celebrate (and be celebrated) through each of our milestones (Bar Mitzvah, wedding, graduations)."
